Better Stack

Let agents inspect logs, traces, uptime monitors, incidents, and on-call context.

The Better Stack connector in Workspace Settings, for logs, uptime monitors and incidents, with a Connect button

Better Stack MCP lets agents query Better Stack data directly. This gives agents production context when they need to debug incidents, explain failures, or connect user-facing issues back to code.

What agents can do

Once you connect Better Stack, agents can inspect:

  • Logs
  • Traces
  • Errors
  • Metrics
  • Uptime monitors
  • Incidents
  • Dashboards
  • On-call context

Setup

Go to Workspace Settings → Connectors (or a project's Connectors page) and click Connect on the Better Stack card (or Connect another to add another account).

Step 1: who the connection is for

Choose whether the connection belongs to you or to your team, which projects can use it, and whose agents can use it. Better Stack starts on Personal Account. See connection options for what each choice means.

Click Continue.

Step 2: how agents reach Better Stack

Second screen of the Connect Better Stack modal, with the Better Stack account tab selected and a Continue to Better Stack button

The second screen has two tabs: Better Stack account and Access token. Pick one.

Better Stack account

This tab is selected by default, and it's the easiest way in — there's no key to create.

Click Continue to Better Stack. Better Stack asks you to approve access. Approve, and you land back on the Connectors page with Better Stack connected.

Agents then act in Better Stack as whoever signed in, so they see exactly what that person can. If you picked Workspace Service Account in step 1, everyone's agents use that access — so sign in with an account whose permissions you're happy to share.

Access token

Follow the Better Stack API token docs to create or copy a global API token. Paste it into the Better Stack API Token field and click Connect Better Stack.

Reconnecting and disconnecting

If Better Stack stops accepting a connection, the Connectors page shows a Reconnect needed badge on it, and agents run without Better Stack.

Click Manage next to the connection to fix it. A connection you made with Better Stack account has no key to replace: it shows Account connection: Connected and, when something's wrong, a Reconnect Better Stack button. You can only reconnect a personal connection you own; for someone else's, Superconductor tells you who to ask.

Disconnect also revokes Superconductor's access at Better Stack. If Better Stack doesn't confirm the revocation, Superconductor tells you to remove Superconductor from your Better Stack authorized apps to finish the job.

When to use it

Ask agents to use Better Stack when a ticket involves production logs, traces, uptime failures, incidents, or on-call investigation.
